The 2012 MSU\u00a0Comics Forum will take place on the first weekend in February.\u00a0 As usual, the keynote address will occur on the first evening, Friday, Feb. 3rd, 2012, while the panel discussions and artist alley will happen the following day, Saturday, Feb. 4th, 2012.\u00a0 The location will be in Snyder\/Philips Hall on the campus of Michigan State University (the same locations as the past two years).<\/p>\n
Now for the exciting news!\u00a0 This year the MSU\u00a0Comics Forum is proud to announce award-winning comics artist and professor, Jessica Abel, as our keynote speaker.\u00a0 Abel is at the forefront of comics in higher education, authoring the textbook, Drawing Words & Writing Pictures<\/cite>, written in collaboration with her husband, the cartoonist Matt Madden; and the graphic novel La Perdida<\/cite> (Pantheon Books). Abel won both the Harvey and Lulu awards for ?Best New Talent? in 1997 and La Perdida won the 2002 ?Best New Series? Harvey Award.
